Get Out of the Sales Slump

Have you ever had a slump in your sales results?

Today, I’m going to show you how to get rid of that dip once and for all.

Nobody likes to be in a slump. If your sales results have recently dipped and you’re trying to figure out what’s going on, I would start by looking at your energy.

From my experience, business owners who find themselves in a slump, have also shifted their energy. Your clients can see it and everybody around you can feel the decline in your energy, except for you.

When I was younger, I used to play baseball and I clearly remember the nerve-racking feeling when you have to run to first base. It was stressful because you can easily get out before you reach the base. In baseball they have a rule when running to first base:

A runner cannot be tagged out after overrunning first base because of momentum.

This means that you can keep running at full speed to first base and straight through without stopping so you don’t lose momentum. I have seen a lot of new players run with high energy towards first base and then lose their momentum because they are slowing down to approach and stop on first base.

They don’t understand that they can run through first base and maintain that same level of energy even after approaching the base.

So my challenge for you is this: If you have recently hit a slump in your sales results, ask yourself

  • Do I maintain a high level of energy from start to finish?
  • Does my energy slow down and decrease as I get to the end of a project?

For example:

If you are speaking on stage, do you start to slow down because you are getting into the closing part of your speech?

When you are producing a video and you get to the call to action, does your energy level decrease from the beginning of the video?

Always make sure that you maintain that high level of energy from the start to the finish.
